Sandra Hermida
Sandra Hermida has been working in audiovisual production for over 20 years.
She started her career as a Production Supervisor with titles such as The Orphanage by J.A. Bayona, Biutiful by Alejandro González Iñárritu, Aloft by Claudia Llosa and Carmina and Amen by Paco León. She also worked on the latter three as an executive producer, as her involvement in projects from development to premiere means that she is not only in charge of Production Supervision, but also of all the work associated with the role of an Executive Producer.
Examples of her productions, in addition to those mentioned above, include such films as The Invisible Guest and Mirage by Oriol Paulo, Marrowbone by Sergio G. Sánchez and The Impossible and A Monster Calls by J.A. Bayona. The latter, alongside the Catalan director’s debut film, was awarded with the Goya for Best Production Supervision.
Her career includes feature films of a more commercial nature, but she has also produced documentaries such as Garbo: The Spy by Edmon Roch, which won the Goya Award for Best Documentary, and I Hate New York by Gustavo Sánchez.
In recent years, Sandra Hermida has also been involved as a producer in projects for different platforms, such as Arde Madrid by Paco León and Anna R. Costa for Movistar, The Innocent by Oriol Paulo for Netflix and Alma by Sergio G. Sánchez, which will be released in 2022.
She has recently released her latest feature films as a producer: Way Down, Jaume Balagueró’s new film, and Lullaby, Alauda Ruiz de Azua’s debut film, which premiered in cinemas after its screening at the Berlinale and Málaga film festivals, where it received seven awards, including the Golden Biznaga for Best Spanish Film.
Moreover, Sandra is in the post-production process of Paco León’s latest feature film, Rainbow; a free and contemporary adaptation of the literary classic The Wizard of Oz, and Easy, the new TV series by Anna R. Costa, creator of Arde Madrid alongside Paco León, and who is now going solo with a miniseries for Movistar +.
Along with several ongoing projects such as Marisol, Laura Jou’s upcoming feature film, Oriol Paulo’s upcoming TV series and Isabel Coixet’s upcoming feature film, Sandra is still shooting J.A. Bayona’s new feature film for Netflix, which she is producing with Belén Atienza, her usual collaborator.
