Juan Cavestany
Juan Cavestany is a screenwriter, filmdirector and playwright.
His first work in film was as screenwriter for the feature, Los lobos de Washington, directed by Mariano Barroso. Has written and produced his own shorts (Microondas, Ramona), as well as the feature films El asombroso mundo de Borja Mari y Pocholo (co-directed with Enrique López Lavigne); Gente de mala calidad; Dispongo de barcos; El señor; Gente en sitios; Esa sensación (co-directed with Julián Génisson and Pablo Hernando) and Un efecto óptico.
He started writing plays for Animalario, and in 2008 won the Max Award for the best playwright in Spanish, for the libretto for Urtain. He still collaborates today with Andrés Lima in different theatre productions.
I
n the world of television, he was screenwriter for the series Vota Juan, and has written and co- directed with Álvaro Fernández-Armero Vergüenza, (three seasons) as well as the soon-to-be- launched Out of Tone, which he also co-produced.
Has won many prizes and been often nominated for awards for his works as playwright and theatre director, as well as for works directed in the world of film and television.
