Edgar Medina
Born in Oporto in 1977. He graduated in Physics from Lisbon University, then earned a Master of Arts in Filmmaking from the London Film School. After that, between London, Lisbon and Macau, he worked on Independent art-house documentaries, short films as director, producer and screenwriter. In Macau he was one of the founding partners of Inner Harbour Films production company. In April 2015 he founded Lisbon based independent production company Arquipélago Filmes.
In 2015 he co-wrote “Letters from War”, directed by Ivo M. Ferreira, that was in the main competition of Berlin International Film Festival (2016), and won the Portuguese Film Academy award for “Best Adapted Script”.
He is the author, screenwriter and producer of the 9 episode drama series “South”, that premiered at the Berlinale Drama Series Days (2019), and was subsequently aired on RTP1 in September 2019. Portuguese Film Academy Sophia award for Best

Currently he is preparing, also as author, screenwriter and producer, the drama series “Dogpack”, a spin-off of the series “South” to be shot in 2023.
