Álvaro Fernández Armero
Álvaro Fernández-Armero is a director and screenwriter. He made his debut in 1992 with El Columpio, which earned him the Goya Best Short Award.
His first feature was Todo es mentira, which was followed by Brujas, Nada en la nevera and El Arte de Morir (written by Juan Vicente Pozuelo, Curro Royo), where he moved away from the comedic slant of his previous works. He returned to comedy in El Juego de la verdad (written with Roberto Santiago). Subsequently, came works such as Salir pitando, Las ovejas no pierden el tren, Si yo fuera rico and, recently, A 1.000 km de la Navidad.
He moves back and forth between film and television, where he has directed very successful series, among them Doctor Mateo, Hospital Central, Con el culo al aire, Algo que celebrar, Allí Abajo, Diarios de la cuarentena and Hit, as well documentary, (Angel Nieto:12+1) and TV movies (Alfonso, el príncipe maldito).
Has written and directed, with Juan Cavestany, for Movistar +, three seasons of Vergüenza, as well as the new series, Out of Tone.
